PHILADELPHIA, PA – Transportation Workers Union Local 234 in the Philadelphia area today unanimously endorsed Eugene DePasquale for Pennsylvania Attorney General.

TWU Local 234 represents over 5,000 employees at the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) and also represents workers throughout the region.

“Workers need an Attorney General who’s going to be on our side, not for big corporations,” said TWU REP. “Eugene gets that. We saw what he was able to do as Auditor General for workers who were being cheated and put in dangerous working conditions, and we know he’s going to use every tool at his disposal to fight the corporate greed that hurts working families when he’s our next Attorney General.”

“As Auditor General, I conducted an audit of wage theft by a multi-billion dollar company and found that they had stiffed their own workers. This is happening all over the Commonwealth through explicit wage theft, worker misclassification, unsafe working conditions and illegal union busting - but it’s going to stop when I have the investigation and prosecution powers of the Attorney General’s office,” said Eugene DePasquale. “I have never been afraid to take on the bad guys, no matter how deep their pockets are or how powerful their shareholders. I’m with the hard workers in labor from Day One.”

The TWU Local 234 endorsement adds to Eugene DePasquale’s large and growing list of endorsements from organizations around the state and country, including:
