Pennsylvania Attorney General candidate Eugene DePasquale talks top priorities

Many Pennsylvanians already know the name Eugene DePasquale. He spent several years as a State Representative serving York County and went on to become Pennsylvania’s Auditor General.

After an unsuccessful run for Congress against incumbent Republican Scott Perry in 2020, DePasquale has largely been out of the public spotlight, until now. The Pittsburgh native now wants to be Pennsylvania’s Attorney General after winning the April Democratic primary to be the state’s top prosecutor.

“I thought at this particular moment we needed an attorney general who would go out and fight for everyday Pennsylvanians, particularly when you had the Dobbs decision, when you had now the threats to reproductive freedom,” said DePasquale.

DePasquale says he wants to stand up to greedy corporations and those who take advantage of the elderly.

“Also important,” DePasquale said, “that we protect our environment and these crooks that are trying to scam our seniors. I’m going to crack down on them as well. I ran because we needed an attorney general right now that will make those take on those fights on behalf of everyday Pennsylvanians.”
