Jewish organization joins numerous advocacy groups backing Eugene;
Cites Eugene’s unique qualifications as former state legislator and Auditor General
PITTSBURGH, PA – Today, Democrat Eugene DePasquale received the Democratic Jewish Outreach Pennsylvania (DJOP) endorsement for Pennsylvania Attorney General.
The Jewish Democratic Political Action Committee joined numerous interest groups backing Eugene and cited his unique qualifications as a former state legislator and Auditor General.
“There is no place for anti-semitism in Pennsylvania,” said Eugene. “Everyone has a right to free speech, and I’ll fight for that right as Attorney General. Everyone also has a right to feel safe in their communities, and I’ll protect that right too.”
Eugene has been an advocate for the Jewish community throughout his time as a public servant. As a state representative for York County from 2007-2012, he consistently supported the Anti-Defamation League (ADL)’s No Place for Hate Day resolutions in the Pennsylvania State House and continues to publicly raise his voice against antisemitic rhetoric on college campuses and in local Pennsylvania communities.
“Our next Attorney General is likely to be called on to defend the results of the 2024 Election,” said Jill Zipin, Chair of DJOP. “We will need someone with Eugene DePasquale’s experience and commitment and willingness to stand up and defend the results of our vote against attempts to overturn it. The board members of DJOP are proud to announce their endorsement of Eugene DePasquale for Attorney General of Pennsylvania.”
Democratic Jewish Outreach Pennsylvania joins a growing number of unions, advocacy organizations, and leaders across the state endorsing Eugene for Attorney General including the Planned Parenthood Pennsylvania PAC, Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers, United Steelworkers, Ricky’s Pride PAC, Philly Neighborhood Networks, Senator John Fetterman, and more.
Pennsylvania’s general election is on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
