Eugene DePasquale believes appealing to voters on a personal level can make a major difference, and the Democratic candidate vying to be the state’s top law enforcement officer is campaigning as such across Pennsylvania.
Earlier this week, DePasquale was in Bedford County knocking on doors with those he hopes to gain their vote in the race for Attorney General. He also spoke at the Pennsylvania Association for Justice summer convention that was held at the Omni Bedford Springs Resort.
“I’m running a 67-county campaign,” DePasquale, who is celebrating his 53rd birthday today, said. “Bedford County certainly leans more Republican, but I’m here to show that I can have everyone’s back.”
The former Auditor General was victorious in a crowded Democratic primary this spring with about 39% of the vote, nearly doubling his next closest challenger. In November, he faces Republican Dave Sunday, who is currently District Attorney in York County. Current AG Michelle Henry, who was appointed to the role after Josh Shapiro was elected governor, is not running for a full term.
